The Fraction Solution

PART ELEVEN

PREVIEW OF OSOM
STEPS 3, 4, 5 AND 6

OSOM HAS SIX DISTINCT STEPS

The Other Side of Math does not end with the successful implementation of OSOM Step 1 (mastery of the student’s current topic) and OSOM Step 2 (problem creation, problem solution, and checking answers) at the elementary, secondary, college or graduate school level.

Remember, OSOM has six distinct steps. This six-step OSOM program is intended to provide a complete remedy for the “The Mathematical Box” – our current “one math only” situation. Applied together as a single system, these six steps, delivered one after the other, form an educational road that leads away from the passive acceptance of textbook’s knowledge and skills to the active creation of mathematical knowledge by students.

There is an the overall goal to the entire OSOM program, steps 1 through 6

A GREATLY ENHANCED ABILITY BY THE INDIVIDUAL TO APPLY MATH TO REAL-LIFE, INCREASED CREATIVENESS IN AND WITH MATHEMATICS, PLUS MORE ENGINEERS, SCIENTISTS AND GREAT MATHEMATICIANS CONTRIBUTING EXCEPTIONALLY VALUABLE  PRODUCTS, SERVICES AND KNOWLEDGE TO MANKIND THAN WAS PREVIOUSLY POSSIBLE.

Therefore, after the successful implementation of Step 2, Problem Creation, into a home school class or a whole school system, the next step is to get OSOM Steps 3, 4, 5 and 6 implemented with those students and in those classes.
